It's quickly approaching and I am curious to know everyone's traditions, Thanksgiving must-haves, and interesting recipes.
Personally, this will be the first time in my life I am celebrating Thanksgiving alone. Living 6 hours away now from my folks with a full time job and a crappy car, and the fact I am saving my time off for Christmas to visit, I can't pull off a return home this Thanksgiving.
That being said, does anyone know any decent, easy, Thanksgiving-for-one meals? I will probably make a good amount so I can have leftovers, but I have never cleaned, gutted, prepared, or cooked and carved up a bird, and Really don't want to go through all that work just for myself. I still want turkey, and friends have told me to gets some Turkey breast and cook it. I am a pretty picky eater too, which is off because I am so fluffy. Pretty much I only like turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn for Thanksgiving. I like that green bean casserole stuff, but I don't really know what's in it, and I have a feeling I won't like it anymore if I find out. Don't really care for stuffing, which everyone says is so good and they list off all the ingredients to it, which I like, but every Thanksgiving dinner with stuffing I have had, someone tried to be all fancy and put some random shit in it I don't like. Don't like really any pie (except for chocolate pie but that's just chocolate and Cool Whip). I have a feeling I won't find a good recipe that's simple for me to make, and I will just end up making 3 pounds of mashed potatoes and gravy, which I guess I am okay with.
And now that I have thought about it, I guess I won't really be alone for Thanksgiving. I have my cone, Jumbo, and my pumpkin, Clark doesn't seem to be rotting, so he might stick around until then. And this Saturday I added a new member to my family, his name is Demetri :
