Alright, so I finally decided to get it on my Itunes. I watched it all the way, and let me just say. IT'S AMAZING.
I know, some people are like "WELL.. IT KINDA CONTRADICTS ITSELF." Look, if you're like me, you were just waiting to see Chucky, your favorite horror character, and your second favorite fictional character in general return. Does this movie have some questional moments? Yeah. It does. Thinking about it, and thinking of the other movies.. there are some eyebrow raising moments. Like, how did that happen? How did this happen? Amazingly, I came up with self explainations for all of them, and they solved those moments for me.
Now, if you're a die hard fan, don't want to use your imagination and think of your own reasons why certain things act as though they do. By all means, complain about the movie till your hearts content. Meanwhile, I will GLADLY say this is my favorite Child's Play sequel. I loved it that much.
It's horrifiying. It reminds me why I was afraid of Chucky in the first place. He's a threat again. He uses his doll size to his advantage. When he comes on the screen, it isn't to tell a joke about Jennifer Tilly, ..I'd make a comment about that but I did say spoiler free. But, when he's on the screen, he is there to be a damn horror character. Not a comedy character, but as a threat. As something to make you realize, this is the devil's play toy.
Are the effects good? Yeah, actually. Really damn good. I know, there's one specific scene where Chucky is on stairs. I'll say that much. Did it look bad... uh.. well... yeah. That's one of the only ones that can come to my mind. The fat-face? I did have an issue with it. Stilllll kinda do. But it's reasonable. If you know anything about Chucky's... secret in this movie, it makes sense to why his face looks a bit.. bigger in those scenes.
As for the violence? Massively great. It doesn't go overboard like SAW. BUT, it does entertain. It's gorey, straight gorey. He still tells his dark humor, and I didn't understand why people say "Brad Douriff just wasn't in this.". This movie isn't suppose to be light anymore. This movie SERIOUSLY reminds me of his voice acting in the original. He's dark, but he has his humor. It's there, it's definitely there. It makes sense for the atmosphere around it. I wouldn't expect Chucky to be bright and happy. I also kept in mind, this is Chucky's.. revenge in a way. This is Chucky, seemingly getting his fair due. This is determination, and he's not f*cking around.
Do I say see this movie? Immeditaly. Was I let down? Not by ANY damn means. I'd be a liar if I said I was. I don't understand the hate towards this movie, I never will. It's a great time, it honestly is.
