I have to say, after the whole remake debacle, I have been numb to the goings on of the production of the supposed Halloween 3D movie. I was doing my rounds for info pertaining to curse and I happen to stumble upon ohmb.nets board member comments www.ohmb.net/showthread.php?p=1218018 , regarding the new Chucky film and I couldn't help but chortle, if you will at the sheer arrogance of Halloween diehards towards the new movie and the franchise in general. The Halloween franchise at this point does not have a leg to stand on.
Rob Zombie ran through this series raw, with no Vaseline, and it hasn't recovered since. It went from being divided among the diehards (I was a member at the time) to being universally panned after the sequel to Rob Zombies remake was released.
I'm honestly a little shocked that the fans of the series are actually looking forward to a 3D Michael Myers film. Do we want a continuation of of Rob Zombies interpretation of the Halloween franchise ? let alone in the fashion of a shlokey 3d gimmick format ? Do the fans not deem this series worthy of some kind foe dignity in ending on a low note. We all know it don't get any better from here.
Some may think where does a Chucky enthusiast get off on criticizing the Halloween franchise, to that I say have you seen the last two, noscratch that three films, (Resurrection sucked). This series does not possess the regal grandfather slasher quality it once had. It was my opinion the more tasteful of the slasher films.
Robs movies in my opinion were the equivalent of a baseball hall of famer getting an asterix next to his name because he did steroids. Yeah it was this great series but it's forever going to have associated with it, Rob's white trash cheap 70's grind house knock skid marks attached to it.
To those who make the argument "so what if they remake it, you still have the originals it doesn't effect those" I think Rob's films directly disprove that statement, because it's a part of the series, good bad or indifferent.
First and foremost it needs to be said that the premise for chucky is no more unrealistic then the Halloween Fridays and nightmare on elm streets, especially going into their 8Th and 9Th entries but
