Ok, so I wrote this a few months ago and scrapped it, but I decided what the hey, somebody might enjoy it. This is my version of Chucky's back story:
Nina Ray was sitting in her bed when the unexpected labor pains kicked in. She was 8 months pregnant and the baby was already coming. Her husband, Lee, tried to take her to the hospital, but before she could get out the door, the baby had arrived. Nobody knew, but Nina had a strong case of heart disease, and could not take giving birth. She died right as Charles Lee Ray was born. Charles was always an awkward little kid who didn’t have many friends. As a teenager, he turned to the more gothic crowd and met a girl named Tiffany. They started dating and instantly fell in love. Charles had problems at home, too. His father was abusive and controlling. When Charles was 15, Tiffany convinced him to murder his father. He came home and strangled Lee Ray with his belt. He went to foster care, and kept in touch with Tiffany, who helped clean up the evidence, allowing Charles to get away with his crime. One of the other teens in the foster home was Eddie Caputo. The two became best friends and decided to break out of their foster home and go on their own. Charles and Eddie succeeded and took Tiffany along with them as a group of misfits. When Charles and Eddie needed money or other goods, they would be willing to kill for it. When Charles was 18, he met a man named John, a Voodoo priest. They became good friends, and John called Charles Chucky. It also caught on with his friends. John got Chucky into the dark arts, unaware of his killer urges, and taught him the art of voodoo. Throughout the next ten years, Chucky, Tiffany, and Eddie carried out 12 killings using ritual voodoo. This stopped in 1988 when Detective Mike Norris caught Eddie and Chucky. Chucky was in an alley killing a man who crossed him when the detective arrived. Chucky hid behind a dumpster, and waited. Norris came up slowly with his gun drawn, and Chucky jumped out, knocked the gun out of Norris’s hand, and pinned him against the cold brick wall. As Chucky held the cold pocketknife up to Norris’s throat, a police car drove by, scaring Chucky away. He ran to get to his getaway car with Eddie waiting. Chucky was shot in the leg on the way, and Eddie drove off. The shootout carried on in the toy store next to the alley, where Chucky ultimately was mortally wounded and managed to transfer his soul into a “Good Guy” doll by the use of voodoo. That’s where it all started.
