Anyone who's a fan of classic slasher killer's of the 80's heard about Jason Voorhees in the famous Friday the 13th movie franchise. What are your thoughts of the series and what was your favorite film? I saw many of the sequels first, my first being part 7, the new blood. I think one of my faves, even though hated and considered the series worse is part 8 where he goes to Manhattan. I recently brought the special ED dvd and a lot of scenes were cut from including the original story which took place IN Manhattan instead of just 15 minutes. Apparently Paramount didn't have the money to shoot there the whole movie so most of the film takes place on that damn boat.
I think one of the things I like about the series is some of the tongue in cheek horror throws and how great the cast members are with fans of the series. Especially Kane Hodder, my favorite Jason out of them all. I hate to admit it but I'm not really too much of a fan of the first 3 in the series. I guess I liked the 4th all the way to the 2009 remake which was more of a sequel then a remake.
One of the things that make me kind of jealous is all these special features they put on these DVD's, even the crappiest sequels have alot of special contents like gag reels, behind the scene documentary, slashed scenes and then we look at the DVD's of the Child's Play series and they don't really get much. Yeah a special edition dvd of the first which was nice but we could've gotten so much more. A gag reel, deleted scenes, especially the 2nd and the 3rd. I doubt we'll get one anytime soon since Universal is embarrassed by the series. Sorry to go off topic, just trying to make conversation....
Oh and this picture...WTF. Atleast behind the scenes they were having fun. Kane seems like he has a great sense of humor. I wonder if anything like this went on behind the scenes of the Chucky films.
