Good Morning folks,
Last night I was at my Wrestling School helping out with remodeling and whatnot. Now for some quick background info. I am in fact one of two of the oldest students with me being 31. Most of the other students are in their early twenties, and last night I got into a Chucky discussion with the two female students one of them being 20 and the other being 21.
The 20 year old is very afraid of Chucky, however she told me her favorite one is CP2. The 21 year old being more of a punk/goth type said that Seed was her fav, and after I gave her the break down of Curse, she seem rather dissappointed.
Now, I am not casting any stones to Seed fans here, because even though I find it to be the weakest of the series I will still watch it and I even saw it the theaters twice. Even though it is bad as a CP movie, it isn't Troll 2 bad. But i do find it odd that the younger gothy type genre takes more to the Seed film where as the older fans hold the the original near and dear.
I also have to wonder what impact Curse will have on these types of fans. Some of us already embraced Curse with the little bit of info we already got so far. I imagine the core Seed fans might not like this as much. But Child's Play was originally a psychological type of horror film, and we need that out of Chucky more then ever so the timing for this is just right.
Again, I am not against the Seed fans, but I have to wonder why Seed attracts the goth type fans who will go on record to say "Chucky... oh he is so cute" when he should be the imbodiment of the fears we have about the human form in an object.
