I don't know if anyone owns the CP3 novel that was released shortly after the movie back in 1991 but it features alot of different scenes that I think were in Don's first draft of the script. Not sure if considered canon but it does say based on a screenplay by him.
In the book, as we all know Chucky is resurrected a little differently from the movie version. A hungry rat starts to get desperate looking for food and it smells blood. It comes across Chucky's mutilated corpse and starts chewing at the plastic to get to the blood and a bubble forms and it burst out all over the rat and spills on to the floor down a pipe which leads to some bald unfinished Good Guy heads. The blood winds up on one of the unfinished heads and all the blood gets sucked into the eye sockets and mouth and finally movement starts.
The head blinks and does some awkward twitching and then the words go " With movement comes memory" and the cute little Good Guy once at peace turns into a angry nasty scowl signalling Chucky's back.
Whitehurt in the novel is described as being overweight and pudgy than his movie counterpart.
There's also one or 2 flashbacks about Chucky/Charles Lee Ray when he was a human doing his first human sacrifice. He had caught a women in the apartment building. He tied her up, gagged her and ya know did what Chucky likes to do best with his knife.
The scene with Cochrane's death plays out a tiny bit different. Chucky doesn't jump out at him and gives him a heart attack. Instead he finds the doll and is about to carry it back to Shelton when Chucky starts moving wriggling free. He lands on his feet and Cochrane is dumb founded. Chucky pulls out his knife and swipes at the air with it and is about to strike when the heart attack starts leaving the doll very confused. When he dies, Chucky's a little disappointed. He pokes at his face with a knife to see if he's playing possum and then digs through Cochrane's pockets and finds the keys to the whole place. He tosses them in the air and catches them and says something to the effect of "Well what do you know? I'm scarier than Nam. Poor bastard."
I really would have liked to have seen that scene filmed but I guess it would have been rather difficult to portray Chucky tossing the keys in the air and catching them maybe?
There are 2 more important scenes that play out very differently in the book than the movie. Instead of Tyler running to a security tent in the amusement park, he winds up running in the high way to get away from Chucky. A police car with 2 policemen, a man and women, pick him up trying to calm him down and the dialogue plays out pretty similar like in the movie. The police women pulls out Chucky and sits him on Tyler's lap and Tyler freaks out which allows Chucky time to grab a gun from one of the cop's holsters and he aims it at Tyler's head and orders the 2 cops to "Stop the car NOW!" He kills both cops, shooting them in the head.
The climax plays out a hell of a lot differently too. Instead of them being atop a huge mountain full of skulls, and Chucky being cut to ribbons after being thrown in a fan, they are on some zip ride that spins around.
Chucky is about to start the transference spell when Andy intervene. The 2 are on the edge of the ride and Chucky's about to stab Andy in the leg when Andy takes the gun and aims it at Chucky's head and he pulls the trigger and Chucky's head explodes and his headless stalk falls to the ground and explodes in to nothing but plastic, metal, bone, blood and sparks. The man in charge of the ride starts digging through the stuff wondering if that was a doll and he says "Ya never know. There might be something interesting here." And he gets a broom and dust pan and scoops it all up.
