I really don't know what would make for a good Chucky sequel. From what we've all heard about Curse, it play on the nostalgia factor for old school fans. I mean how many time can you drag up the past in order to get fans to like it.
As far as a "VS" film concept, I always had a thing for wanting to see Chucky going up against Michael Myers. Others have told me this type of story wouldn't work, and I agree, but I feel that out of all the slashers Michael and Chucky are the most realistic despite Chucky being a supernaturally possessed doll. As far as them being serial killers they have many similarites.
If anything, a good "VS" concept to me would be to see Chucky go against Patrick Bateman. Granted "American Psycho" is a killer that is grounded in reality, but since they made that God awful sequel, why not through in a little fantasy. Perhaps, Chucky could have had a run in with Bateman in the 80 when he was still human. Now 25+ years later, Bateman is a very wealthy big shot, who still goes out at night to kill ppl, and one of these ppl may happen to be one of Chucky's targets. Of course a majority of this film would have to be more psychological thirller based, until the finaly, where Chucky and Patrick square off. Chucky can keep hiding on him and can even throw in a line while he is *censored*ing with Patrick's head like "What's the matter Patrick are you scared? Don't forget that I was the one who trianed you to be a silent killer, and know your *censored*ing with the master."
Again far fetched... shitload better than Seed.
Or maybe a gimmick film, where Chucky gets ressurected by some sort of crazed fanatic, who not only knows voodoo, but can manipulate it to make Chucky follow his orders. Maybe an outcasted individual who wants his enemies dead, but doesn't have the balls to do it himself. Now Chucky has to figure out a way to get rid of this *censored*.
Text book gimmick film... shitload better than Seed.
TBH as much as I want to see more Chucky movies, if Curse is as good as what everyone is saying, then I can make peace with this being his last ride.
Unless if they are going to give us a movie that actually indicate that it is "Thee" last movie, then they can throw in everything from the previous 5 films. Just as long as it is done right. I am sorry but I never once felt that Freddy was really dead after watching "Freddy's Dead" and "Jason Goes to Hell" was a shitty was to say goodbye to Jason, even though we did see him again. So if they make a movie like "Legend of Chucky: The Last Recess" or something like that they have to do it right.
