I hate to say it but the CP series from part 1 to Seed reminds me of the sitcom "Family Matters" The first season was a regular feel good family program that was about a middle class family learning lessons in life. Kind of like an Afican American version of "Full House" where each episode led to a moral lesson. Steve Urkel wasn't even in the first season, and was sprinkled in the second season as a minor over the top character.
By the time to show saw its final season Urkel was the main character and the show was centered around him, some of the Winslow family members had dissappeared and their interactions where side pieces, and the show had elements that weren't at all grounded in reality like it had started. Urkel was able to change himself into any celebrity, and he had split into 2 people.
WHAT THE *censored*!!!
Now don't get me wrong, I think the show would have got canceled if it weren't for the introduction of Urkels character since it was a little boring at time, but then it got overdone and milked what they could out of the Urkel characters til dust started dripping from that teet.
Well, Chucky isn't all that different in these respects. You didn't see too much of him the first movie, he was very dark and creepy, he didn't say a whole lot when you really think ab out it, and there was only one line of humor. Seed was the complete opposite of what CP1 had started. Sometimes I think about what the sequel following Seed was going to be like if they wanted to stay on what the franchise had become. What would have been next? Chucky wins a ticket to go to the Wonka factory, would he have followed in Jason's shoes and had an adventure in Space, or maybe found a time machine and caused some problems for some folks in the wild west.
Do you see where I am coming from here?
