Okay so as some may or may not know, before Curse of Chucky release and before any official news regarding the film existed and we were at a loss for what the new sequel to Chucky would after ten years I had conducted an interview with a Singer/performer by the name of Thane Koi
who had taken to Twitter to express his discontent with what he allegedly felt was an under handed method by production to utilize him as a minority in the film, much to his shagrin.
Here the thread to the original interview here prideofchucky.proboards.com/thread/361/thane-interview-turned-role-curse
He claimed he'd been flown out to Winnipeg, where the movie was filming, Auditioned and hired an African American disabled cop. Thane is actually hard of hearing and disabled to which he was favored for the rule, but according to him, and just to be clear this is his accusation, and allegedly meetings had gone on regarding his contribution to the role and it was allegedly relayed by his agent that they felt he needed to play up to a stereotype to which he wasn't willing to do.
What was even more interesting was what he had to say about the the film which was then heavily shrouded in mystery. He'd said that his script allegedly referred to him doing something
big before he transformed his "soul" into the doll. Which he conceived
a child, and had a daughter. That's why Brad's daughter is actually
casted as the daughter in the movie."
He also alleged that his script did imagine the film as the originaly reported reboot,.
So as of late we are almost at the one year anniversary of the long awaited "Curse of Chucky" and several key elements are missing from the film that discussed.
I felt compelled enough to ask him about the original interview abs he'd told me that his script was very early on in production and it's been tweaked more then likely since he got his script allegedly. I'd asked him to further elaborate on what exactly was in the early Curse of Chucky script he had and he made some very interesting statements.

Hey, Thane , glad you enjoyed the VMAs, I'm mad jealous !. Haven't spoke to you in a while but i ran the chucky site that contacted you about your involvement with the film a whiiiiile ago.
I wanted to ask you about the movie. The movie we got was a little different then you described so i was wondering if you had like an early version of the script, because some of the details like, Chucky's daughter, and things like that, that brought up weren't in the movie we got. Not sure if you saw it even wanted to see it at this point .

Hey, ! Thank you, i did enjoy my time at the VMAS, Had the opportunity to meet Beyonce backstage. And yes, I recall that interview. It was an early script of the movie. I had to give back the script because I dropped out of the movie, and it wasn't just me. It was other people who as well dropped out. And I did see few glimpses. They had last minute changes, and put all of the veterans in the movie. Which I wasn't aware of. It was a secret, maybe.

But I haven't seen the whole movie yet because I could be petty Lol but I heard that they solved some mystery, of each character. But I was surprised on the part when they made "Charles" a friend of the family
when we all actors thought he would be the "father" of Nica due to the previous script.
But it's Hollywood...they always change scripts right away to leave a piece out of the puzzle.

That's crazy, when i move from N.Y. to L.A. that's when start holding all the events there. Smh.
What were the specific details of the script you read because now you've peaked my interest . Were the original people not supposed to be included ? Was Jennifer Tilly or even possibley Alex Vincent not originally attached? What were the specific details of script, and early the process of the being made did you receive this script ?
And one the biggest things readers shared some confusion about, including myself, i can't lie. Was your reflectance to take the role because felt they "only wanted you because you were black", which i guess was recasted with adam hurtig, a white non hearing impaired actor ?
My confusion was i guess, why that necessarily would be a bad thing with Hollywood tending to not to cast black actors in feature films. I thought the concept would be great like how Wes Craven, for Scream 2 opted to have Jada Pinkett and Omarr epps get that coveted role of the opening girl and couple which was highly sought after at the time, and wasn't written for Africa American originally.
Can you paint a better of how you felt we're wronged ?

Yeah Lol, and um, some specific details were of course digging up the past of the main character, Charles. Him meeting Tiffany (Which wasn't included in the movie) and Charles fathered a child with Sarah. Which is why Nica went "crazy" later on in the movie. But they changed the reason why she was detained in a hospital. I felt that they wanted me because they knew I could be good for the movie because I was of black origin, had sassy remarks. I was supposed to chase Brad in the toy store and have few words with him before he transfered his soul in the doll. It was supposed to be urbanized cuz it's the new generation. In the first movie, it was all white actors in that movie chasing Brad. But they told me they wanted to have a spin on the new Chucky movie. I was surprised they only showed ONE Black actress which was in the post office with Tiffany. There were supposed to be more African american actors instead of only one. I was insulted because they knew I was an media personality/singer. They said to one of the producers "Oh, we could use Thane Koi to give a umph in this movie to up the sales. and it was other black actors of course. But you didn't see any, right? Which explains it all.

I left the production and I wished them nothing but well. I didn't want to be part of that project anymore. I have 4 projects lined up this year, I have 2 tv shows and 2 movie roles which will show more of my acting instead of a small role in Chucky. I'm happy either way. That way people can really see my acting skills.

Now for the disclaimer. Just to be thorough when I asked if he could reveal who in production was involved in the meeting and who he met with he did not provide the info, possibly at his own discretion, I don't know. and when asked, someone involved in production did deny His involvement with the film. Does that mean he wasnt involved with the film at some point, no it doesnt, but all sides need to be covered.
With that said what do you guys think about what he says his original Course script involved, completely different film huh ?
